The Into the Deep strategic planning process is announced and shared throughout the diocese; data is collected from parishes, schools, other Catholic institutions, and from general census data - all of which will be used to create a "Current Reality Report" (explaining our current reality).
The "Current Reality Report" is finished and shared with various leadership groups (of priests, deacons, religious, and lay people) from across the diocese, as well as the general public. Leadership groups are also consulted regarding how best to align our resources for the sake of mission and the good of our people given the current reality.
Public feedback will be sought and determinations will be made about how best to align our resources for the sake of mission and the future.
Bishop Donald J. Hying will review and approve an appropriate bold new model which, in his words, will help us to accomplish “this daunting, necessary, but hope-filled task of recalibrating our resources to [better] match the mission of Jesus Christ.”
We will work to implement and refine our model which seeks to realign resources with mission so that we can continue and advance the universal mission of the Church to go make disciples!
*This timeline will be updated throughout this process.
